Faith Meter

Assume that faith is in a scale of 0-10:

0 is the lowest possible quantity, where you will receive the message "You pray silently and solemnly."
1 is where you get the message "You have lost touch with [God's Name]". You may gain 100 exp when giving thanks.
4 is where you will get 250-1000 exp for giving thanks.
7 is where you will get 2500-5000 exp for giving thanks.
10 is where you will get blue swirls each time you give thanks ("divine faith"). You gain 5000 exp as worshipper and acolyte, 25000 as priest.

That having been clarified... Use this table as a gauge for understanding what certain tasks do to your faith, and how to keep faith high.

GREEN means the act will raise your faith exponentially.
BLUE means your faith goes up slightly.
Purple means your faith rises or drops insignificantly at first, but it adds up in the long run.
Yellow means your faith drops slightly, and don't be surprised if you lose your Divine Faith.
RED means your faith sucks now, and you should do a green task to get back to Divine. A HINT: Ask for an enemy necklace (a GREEN option) in exchange for giving a greater geas (which is a RED option).

Self-Fulfilling Tasks:

Give Thanks 1: +5 faith

Supplicate Alone: -5 faith

Supplicate With Assistance: -1 faith

Receive Mass 1: +5 faith

Receive Lesser Geas: +5 faith

Receive Greater Geas: +10 faith

Rise in Temple Degree: -10 faith

Servitude Tasks:

Assist Prayers: -1 faith

Assist Entreaty: -5 faith

Cast Mass: -1 faith

Give Lesser Geas: -5 faith

Give Greater Geas: -10 faith

Banish from Temple: -5 faith

Intitate Worshipper/Assist Someone's Degree: +1 faith

Desecrate 1 Enemy Item: +5 faith

Desecrate 1 Enemy Necklace: +10 Faith

Consecrate 1 Enemy Item: -5 faith, -1 day labour

Consecrate 1 Prayer Necklace: -10 faith, -1 day labour

Excommunicate Worshipper: -10, total loss of all accumulated faith.

Consecrate 1 Holy Symbol/Staff: [appears unaffected]

Divine Faith

What is divine faith? When you give thanks, you accumulate faith. Giving thanks by using 24-36 "game days" of labour will provide you with enough faith to give someone 5k-25k exp every time they give thanks with your assistance. You have to give thanks over and over again (with a good assistant too), sometimes for many RL days, to accumulate enough faith to raise degree on your own.

Temple Conduct

Note: the masculine "priest" has been used to lighten the text, but "priest" also applies to "priestess".

1- A priest should be calm and courteous to the guests and followers who enter the temple, under any circumstances. Priest should not argue among themselves in front of the Fellowship or guests in the temple. Arguments should be done in private whispers. If the problem can not be solved between two priests, they can ask a member of the higher Clergy to help solve it.

Priests on a grumpy streak encourage others to do the same, so the bad mood should be kept outside the temple.
Priests should not belittle or degrade anyone at all. This is rude and disrespectful of the Gods and Goddess.
Priests must be compassionate and understanding of the way other aislings are, and not be judgemental in their views of these aislings. This does not only apply to Gliocans but to all Faiths.

2- A Priest should be able to help those who need it, and always try to be available.

If a priest is not available, they should be polite when replying to the aisling asking for assistance in letting them know they are unable to help at the moment.
A priest should not refuse someone help just because they do not like the person's hair, or any other reason that is discriminatory.

3- A Priest is a peace keeper and upholds the Temple Rules at all times.

A priest should monitor the way everyone behaves in the temple and they should be able to handle the situation in the most professional manner.
If it comes down to it a banishment from the temple grounds, it has to be warranted. A priest should not banish anyone just because they do not like the aisling or when aislings are there to seek attention by causing minor trouble.
A priest has a huge responsiblility in the temple to keep it clean and uphold the Fellowship values. All temples have general and specific rules that have to be observed.

Specifically, a Gliocan Priest has the duty to make sure everyone is happy in the temple, that no one is being attacked, help to heal scars, help to desecrate items of enemy Gods, help assist others in their prayers to their Gods, and teach Glioca's ways to the younger followers of the faith. They must be the role models of the Faith.
In general, Priests and Priestesses should be the foundation for any fellowship and the heart of all Faiths. In any case, use your judgement.
